Police deploy mobile field headquarters in bread truck
Lubbock Police start using a Chevrolet Step-Van as Mobile Field Headquarters at night. The white van with red lights, an antenna and siren will patrol citywide and carry first aid equipment to shotguns. It replaces the 1963 mobile unit, deemed too small by Chief J. J. Alley and Lt. Claude Keaton. The new unit is taller and longer, and may outgrow the current model soon.

Flaming Air France Crash Off Riviera Kills 95

Griffith was a Vermit native, longtime resident of Branket City, with father employed by El Paso Natural Gas Co. Services are pending at Singleton Funeral Home.
