Donor kidney typing could aid primaries and international sharing
A scientist outlined a system where donor kidneys are typed by 12 cell antigens and stored on computers. In early phases a recipient might fly to a donor center, then later kidneys could be shipped to the recipient’s hospital, enabling possible international sharing. tests showed 300 of 1,000 people had unique antigen combinations. Separately a county board approved financial moves and building changes, including a $125000 time deposit and a door modification for a basement exit, plus relocation of utility lines and a right of way purchase for US 287 North improvements.

City Budget Study Set By Council
Lubbock city council holds final study session at City Hall at 11 a.m. today on the 1968 69 budget. A public hearing on the 20.6 million budget is set for the council meeting Thursday at 7 30 a.m. The original total proposed by City Manager Bill Blackwell was 211 million. The 20.6 million remains a record and 1.8 million more than this year. Five August work sessions preceded the plan. An agreed 13 cent tax cut was offset by a 76,011 boost from joint city county projects and a possible extra 1 1/4 cents tax rate. The tax cut decision may be settled at today’s meeting.
