Viet Cong forces attacked a U S 101st Airborne unit near Ap Trang Dau 26 miles northwest of Saigon killing 33 and wounding many. Viet Cong used civilians as shields and fled after the assault leaving 48 bodies. Detroit based school teacher Diane Podawa and nightclub executive Thomas Lee Schoenith planned a wedding after clarifying hypnotism concerns with Roman Catholic officials.
