The United States shifts clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday. Four states Arizona Hawaii Michigan and Indiana do not observe the change due to exemptions under the Uniform Time Act of 1966.
Freezing temperatures nipped the Panhandle as a slow-moving cold front brought sleet and rain. An arctic front was expected to dip temperatures into the low 20s in Amarillo and near freezing in Lubbock. The Associated Press reports Peking plans to take China’s seat at the UN and related agencies soon. Borger Tex police report a teen from Borger died on arrival at North Phons Hospital after a wreck near the high school stadium. Police Chief Arthur Wanedht and two officers assisted another car involved in the incident. Five youths were injured and remained in undetermined condition late Friday.
