Lubbock county tech alumni chapters prepare for the 20th annual homecoming on November 10 as Texas Tech faces Texas Christian University. Alumni events include a campus luncheon hosted by Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma coaches and the Lubbock Bus Company, a noon gymnasium luncheon, a 9pm dance, and registration of all returning alumni with no speeches planned. Jerome Shirley a 43 year old former Lubbock resident died in a Corpus Christi hospital from injuries in a truck accident the night before. He was buried in Corpus Christi Friday. Prizes Planned For Hallowe'en Costumes Parade
The City Recreation department announced a downtown Hallowe'en parade with 38 cash prizes for funniest and most original costumes. Top prizes are $25, $15, and $10, plus several $5, $3, $2, and $1 awards funded by the recreation department and civic clubs. The event is open to any resident of Lubbock.

Oil Paintings On Display In Store Window

Sears oversee the effort, with $3,785 already raised and a $6,000 cash purchase for the site.

Cattle Tuberculosis Testing Continues in County
Dr L D Chedester of the U S Department of Agriculture tests cattle for tuberculosis in Lubbock County and will stay three more weeks. He urges stockmen to register their herds with county agent Jason O Gordon. Many herds are already registered for the free service. All cattle are tested regardless of herd size and owners will be notified about three days before testing.

Funeral services for Mrs. Eldon Cummings 16 daughter of Mr and Mrs F D Thomas of route 2 Lubbock were held at 4 pm Saturday at the Primitive Baptist church. Burial followed in Lubbock cemetery. The former Anna Mae Thomas died suddenly in Wahoo Nebraska on Oct 9 Survivors include her husband and a brother Floyd Thomas of Lubbock.
