Wreck Found By Youths Near Buffalo Lakes

Four youths fishing at a lake found a wrecked car after a crash that killed RS. Cecil Reed and injured her husband near Buffalo Lakes. Reed and his wife were thrown from the vehicle as it plunged 45 to 50 feet down an embankment. Reed, 32, died. his wife, 31, died later at Methodist Hospital. Reed was sister in law of state Sen. Preston Smith. The accident marked the 114th on the South Plains that year. Funeral services were planned at Carter Funeral Home in Rails East of Lubbock.
