Early in flight TV demo linked Loretta Young to air safety
In 1932 Western Air Express tested airborne television using Loretta Young on a Fokker trimotor at 3000 feet over Los Angeles. Dr. Gerhard Fisher, with Herbert Hoover Jr., saw a potential safety use while Lubcke refined the early system. The dream of TV guided planes faded as radio guidance and instrument landings emerged.

Boy Trapped in Cave Rescued After Nightlong Effort
Morris, a 15 year old from Berea, was trapped 60 feet inside Wildcat Cave near Hickley after a flat tire detour during a field trip. Rescue teams led by Curtis Peck and Mike Ulrich used ropes and straps to inch him free despite extreme confinement and near freezing conditions. The boy remained calm, asked for a doctor, and was finally hoisted out with the help of a board and rope attachment to his thighs.
