Frigid weather fault lines aside, officials vow to keep searching Mountaineer Coal Co No 9 after a new blast delays rescue of 78 entombed miners. Ninety nine Midnight Shift workers were at eight mile mine when the blast hit. 21 were rescued previously. Executive John Corcoran said no avenue of escape will be closed and the mine will not be sealed while a reason remains to keep it open.
