Nixon-Eisenhower wedding planned as private ceremony

Brownfield commissioner killed in 2 year crash

Terry County Commissioner B S Tankersley, 80, died at the scene after a two vehicle collision in Brownfield at the Lubbock Road and Lanny Ave intersection while returning from a 4 H club awards banquet. Passenger Vester Cummings, 19, was hospitalized in good condition. Tankersley, a Brownfield resident of 42 years, served 12 years on the commission and chaired local church and lodge groups. Services are pending at Brownfield Funeral Home. Tankersley is survived by a large family including wife five sons and five daughters and other relatives.
