More than a half foot of snow fell in parts of the Panhandle on Monday as freezing drizzle turned to snow across the South Plains. Up to 3 inches could accumulate with temperatures dropping into the mid 20s and icing likely on roads. Lubbock reported freezing drizzle with temps 30 to 32, while Stratford and Dalhart recorded 5 to 8 and 6 inches respectively. Weather service warned travelers and forecast improving conditions by today and Wednesday.
