President Truman orders an injunction via Interior Secretary Krug to stop John L. Lewis from cancelling his work contract with the government. The White House press secretary confirms the step as part of a broader effort to confront Lewis in the coal crisis.
Three of four men suspected in the Anton Phillips 66 station robbery were identified and sought by warrants in Dallas as a man later shot by Dallas Detective Jack Dorris died. The hold up netted about $35 cigars pennies and cameras.
In London the House of Commons approved the Labor government foreign policy by a 353 to 0 vote after Prime Minister Attlee denied charges that Britain and the United States were forming an exclusive bloc against Russia. Martinez Calif November 18 The sheriff's office said an automobile passenger bus collision near San Pablo Contra Costa County resulted in three deaths and injuries to several others. Deputy Sheriff C Messler said reports indicated the accident occurred a quarter mile north of San Pablo and that the vehicles caught fire after the crash. Further details were not available.

Miss Mary Hopper 17 daughter of Mrs. O H Hopper was diagnosed with poliomyelitis at the West Texas Polo center in Plainview. Hospital officials reported she was resting comfortably and in fairly good condition with her back affected from head to hips and arms and legs not yet affected. She was transported this afternoon from Lorenzo to the center by Pea Rix ambulance of Lubbock.
