Rodeo Performer Injured in Boston Bull Attack
UPA rodeo performer Johnny Spruell age 30 from Canadian Texas was unseated and gored by a Brahma bull at Boston Garden last night. He suffered a facial slash from the animal's horns and was hospitalized today for treatment.

Wilson 4 H Club Boy Wins $25 War Bond in Garden Contest
Carlton Wilke aged 11 son of Mr and Mrs Benno Wilke of Wilson area Lynn county was chosen by State boys agent L L Johnson to win a $25 war bond in the Green Thumb Garden contest announced by Lynn county agent Robert L Stone The state contest sponsored by the National Victory Garden Institute noted Wilke raised 19 varieties and produced 586 pounds of vegetables for home use and sale with 350 pounds sold and 236 pounds consumed locally

Post Office at Lubbock reports October receipts up 25 percent from 1943, lifting ten‑month total to over 5 000 dollars more than the whole of 1943. Amos H.
