A Lubbock man known as Francis was arrested for carrying a prohibited weapon after police suspected a prior felony. Court records showed a forgery conviction with a two year sentence, but no proof of service or prior prison. notices allegedly stalled and the sheriff questioned an old clerical error.
Chrysler Corp says it will ask a federal court to block price increases until the new labor agreement with the United Auto Workers. It cites costs and an average 51 increase in September and seeks a $72.80 rise under the contract, while Ford and American Motors also seek second round boosts to cover higher labor and material costs.

The raid, aided by a DPS helicopter, targeted overseas mail shipments and linked to a clothing store near Texas Tech University.
