Cambodian forces claim toxic gas shelling near Phnom Penh

Cambodian high command reports that communist forces used a toxic gas shelling for the first time in the northeast front near Phnom Penh. About 100 government troops were knocked out, though not permanently incapacitated, as fighting around Prakhom and along Highway 6 continued. Brig. Houangsin said mortars fired on Cambodian positions caused heavy casualties but stabilization followed.

Lindsey recalls bootleggers, oil boom towns, and a stint as a Mississippi MP, but laments the gun and lifestyle and would not recommend the path.
