Vinyard's Texico Railroad Years and Life
Vinyard arrived in Texico in 1914 and rose in railroad service for 45 years. He recalls loading horses without sand, freezing conditions, and workers delayed. He notes liquor shipments helped Texico go wet before dry, wages and hours, and wartime hiring struggles. He married Florence in 1940s after a long courtship and taught piano with three pianos owned.
