German Youths Shaped by American Influences and Berlin Walls
Julie and Michaela recount German attitudes toward class, gender, and outsiders noting a growing American influence among youths. They describe dance culture, social norms, and perceptions of American men as bold yet criticize German rigidity. They visited Berlin and felt the Wall’s constant presence and stark EastWest contrasts.
