United Press reports a savage dog pack killed a boy in St Louis. Douglas Draper blamed owners for roaming dogs as authorities counted up to ten animals. As Jones neared the scene, the pack attacked but fled after mauling the boy.
Police arrested two suspects, Connie Rey Brown and Gene Wayman Dodd, after a gunpoint robbery at Ida Jou service station and a subsequent high speed chase through northwest Lubbock. Officers fired 11 shots into the air at the fleeing stolen car on College Avenue. Bond set at 10,000 each. Page 14.
Heavy rains drenched the Texas coast Saturday with up to 12 inches of water, flooding towns and halting traffic. Two fishermen were killed as waters rose and funnels were reported near Columbus and Houston, according to Weather Bureau notices.
