Lubbock High holds 521 graduate commencement at Fair Park
The 521 Lubbock High School graduates will hear Dr. J Chess Lovern deliver the commencement sermon at 2 30 p m today at the First Baptist Church. Friday’s 8 p m ceremony at Fair Park Coliseum will feature speakers Liz Creson Craig Austin Virginia Bray and Willis Taylor. Principal Floyd Honey will present 63 honor graduates as seniors report by 2 19 p m with tickets required for general admission.

Kansas trucker William Vanscoder will be named Driver of the Year at the Kansas Motor Carriers Association conference in Salina June 10 11 for aiding 21 year old Air Force dischargeee Billy N Biggs after a wreck near Meade Kansas Vanscoder rendered first aid arranged ambulance and police service set traffic signals and received commendation from the Kansas Highway Patrol for preventing a more serious outcome.
