Overbuilding Nonsense Denied by FHA Director Cole
Albert H. Cole director of the Federal Housing and Home Finance Administration told the National Association of Home Builders in Washington that overbuilding talk is nonsense and that there is insatiable demand for homes. He cited the Voluntary Home Mortgage Credit program as a real tool to aid financing and minority housing, and noted progress in minority housing while acknowledging financing challenges. The NAHB directors adopted an eight point program to spur private pension fund investment in FHA and VA mortgages and to ensure affordable housing through improved land planning and zoning.
