Woman Hurt In Feud Sparks Lash Of Burglary

A 40 year old Lubbock woman was wounded in a 7 am shooting tied to a Latin American family feud that also exposed two teenagers as burglars who struck about ten business places last week. A 15 year old was held by police in Lubbock and a 16 year old was arrested in Dallas after family pressure. The burglary included a $600 heist at Lester's Jewelers on Broadway with 12 watches and a radio stolen from a display window. Witnesses’ testimony helped police link the shooting to the burglaries, and the injured woman’s daughter said she had dating the 16 year old and that the mother had opposed the relationship. The story notes a threat involving the mother attempting to take the daughter back.
