Tech to install 6000 touch tone phones at Texas Tech
Texas Tech will punch rather than dial as 6,000 touch tone phones and a revamped system roll out this summer to support the Medical School and campus growth. The change raises annual phone costs above $1 million while Southwestern Bell funds a $3 million temporary setup in six trailer modules to handle traffic until a new building opens in 1981. The switchover target is midnight July 10, with 1,300 phones first in offices and 3,700 in dorms, followed by a 30 day installation period.

Reagan Gains Weekend Delegates Narrow Ford Lead
