Thunderstorms rolled through the South Plains with lightning striking a Lubbock roof and igniting a grass fire north of Post while sporadic showers affected scattered areas. A severe weather warning was issued for West Texas at 3 30 pm though turbulence remained minimal. At 2 22 pm a Reese Air Force Base pilot reported a funnel cloud 20 miles southwest of Lubbock.
