One Dead Three Hurt In Car Bus Collision

A Greyhound bus carrying 45 passengers collided on the Pennsylvania Turnpike with an automobile carrying three soldiers. One soldier died, two were hospitalized, and a bus passenger was also hospitalized. Twenty two bus riders were checked at a hospital.

Timber Tot Found Alive After Four Days Missing

A 3 year old boy missing in dense bushland since Wednesday afternoon was found alive Sunday about four miles from his home. He had a slight fever and swollen feet but otherwise appeared well. He was found under a tree by Frederick Gervais and his three sons.

Jap boats attacked Moji in Korean Strait

Two Japanese fishing boats were fired upon by a South Korean patrol boat Sunday in the Korea Strait near Moji Japan. The incident raised tensions as naval authorities investigated the clash.

Downtown shooting leaves Juan Garcia dead and companion wounded

Juan Garcia a 47 year old Latin American man of 113 Ave M died from a chest and shoulder gunshot wound after a dispute over a double parked car on Broadway. Francisco Lopez 58 of 110 Ave M was wounded in the right shoulder and released from Methodist Hospital. Lopez said four youths ages 17 to 32 fired from a car alley near Broadway. Four suspects were arrested but Lopez could not identify them. Funeral arrangements for Garcia were pending.

An automobile crashed into a walking group heading to Ste. Anne de Beaupre early Sunday. Two Quebec youths were killed and nine others injured.

Home Show Opens at Municipal Coliseum with 8500+ Crowd

A six annual Avalanche-Journal Home Show drew more than 8500 on Mothers Day as doors opened for a week long event at Municipal Coliseum. Visitors viewed homes and gifts while daily prize drawings awarded $500 in cash prizes and $100 certificates from exhibitors.

Ten Injured In Two Crashes In 30 Minutes

In two automobile crashes within 30 minutes late Sunday afternoon, ten people were injured. One smash occurred near Buffalo Lakes Road FM 835 about 4 30 pm involving three autos. Five people were treated and Judy Rodgers 16 listed in fair condition at Methodist Hospital.

Chinese Nationalist jet crashes in Formosa village

A Republic of China Air Force F-86 Sabrejet crashed Sunday in Chung Li Village, southern Formosa, killing the pilot and seven villagers. Eleven others were injured as the plane, during a training flight, developed engine trouble and struck homes, with 24 houses destroyed by fires.
