Two Clovis youths die as car hits house
Two 19 year old Clovis residents Billy Baird and Wesley Stephens Jr. died when a 1964 automobile veered out of control and crashed into a house at 421 E Brady St in southeast Clovis. Helen Lacknane and her two children were uninjured as the car demolished the side of the home. Investigating officer Capt C B Purselley noted the crash occurred about 7 15 pm CST, bringing the year's traffic fatalities to seven. Funeral services were pending.
