Reese Commander Draws Israel Post

Col. Schuyler Bissell, commander of Reese Air Force Base 4th Flying Training Wing, will leave Lubbock in May to assume duties in Washington DC and Israel as defense attaché. Easter Services Planned Across City

A variety of Easter services and related activities are scheduled through Sunday. At St. Christopher's Episcopal Church a baptism and flowered cross service is at 3 p.m. today with an Easter egg hunt to follow. High Mass is at 11:30 p.m. and Easter services on Sunday include 8 a.m. 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church holds an Easter vigil at 1 p.m. today, with Masses on Easter Day. Christ the King Catholic Church observes Holy Saturday at 8 p.m. and Easter Masses at 8:30 9:30 10:45 a.m. and noon. no evening service. Westminster Congregation celebrates Easter at 10:45 a.m. with Handel's Hallelujah Chorus by adult and youth choirs. Sunrise services include 10:50 a.m. and 6 p.m. at Bethel Temple Assembly of God, and an Easter egg hunt after the morning service. Highland Baptist Church preaches at 10:45 a.m. and Grace Presbyterian hosts a 7 a.m. sunrise service. Redeemer Lutheran holds a 6:30 a.m. sunrise service followed by breakfast. Lubbockview Christian Church plans a 7:30 a.m. all-church service in Walker Gardens and 8:50 a.m. breakfast with a master egg hunt at 10 a.m. First United Methodist offers two Resurrection celebrations with Dr. Sam Nader preaching at 3:30 a.m. and 10:50 a.m., a baptismal service at 3 p.m. in the sanctuary. Children will participate in the varied pageant activities.

Bomb blasts wound 13 in Jerusalem on Good Friday

In Jerusalem attackers set bombs as crowds of sabbath shoppers gathered. Thirteen people were wounded when a blast in a sack of oranges exploded near Jaffa Road, with another blast near a shoe shop on Anarie Jaffa Road injuring several.
