Byrd Favors Raising Carter Wage Proposal Beyond Two Fifty
Senate Majority Leader Robert Byrd said Congress should raise the Carter wage proposal above 2.50 per hour. He noted the current minimum wage is 2.30 and suggested a figure between 2.60 and 2.75 as more appropriate.
