In High Point North Carolina a 16-year-old student killed classmate David Lee Walker at High Point Central High School during lunch. Gerald Locklear was arrested nearby after the assault and found with a .38 caliber revolver. Police say there was prior conflict and Locklear had written an essay about how he would kill Walker.

Benjamin Lach, charged with murdering a Texas Tech cleaning woman, was bound over to the grand jury after an examining trial where a surprise alibi witness testified they were together on December 4 the night of the slaying.
