Robber Chains Wallet Cash in Western Union Hold Up
A lone gunman robbed the Western Union office at 1220 Texas Ave of about 695 dollars at 8 35 p m Wednesday. A W Smith 38 of 2002 71st St identified the suspect who wore a brown windbreaker and used a black scarf to cover his face while threatening to shoot. He escaped with about 575 in cash and Smiths wallet containing around 120. Detectives questioned a man stopped at 13th Street and Avenue O. he was released without charge. Officers later found a brown jacket a longhair wig black scarf and sunglasses in an alley near Avenues J and K.
