Avalanches Strikes Toll Rises in Italian Alps
Four dead four injured and seven missing after a spate of avalanches and snowslides hit the Italian Alps. In Brighton England a 68 year old man on a 60 year old motorcycle won the 35th Epsom to Brighton historic run. Bill Fruin of Benson Oxfordshire rode a 1910 Triumph Solo 44 miles in 2 hours 15 minutes as rain caused many veterans to fail. Fruin recovered from a heart attack last year and felt very fit.
