Roy Carl Sheffield a 33 year old resident of 2017 16th Street was killed Saturday night when struck by an automobile on U S Highway 87 about 244 miles south of Lubbock. The driver Jerry Norman Duty 32 from 4832 45th Street was not injured. Sheffield walking on the road was struck by Duty s southbound vehicle. Funeral services pending with Sanders Funeral Home. Don McClure from Graham placed second in bareback riding with a 60 point effort, while Les Gore of Laramie led the standings with 66 points on Thursday night.
