A two year 500000 study by Colorado scientists led by Dr Edward A Condon concludes further UFO research may not be scientifically justified. The report, approved by NAS specialists, says some public belief harms education and urges teachers to skip UFO coverage.
The Texas House advanced a riot emergencies measure giving the governor authority to curfew gatherings and regulate sales. It also approved Rep. Lombardino’s bill to establish a four year University of Texas at San Antonio with full programs and doctorates. Senate later considered 53 local bills as session tense over a Kennedy Memorial Commission plan.
An unexploded bomb was removed from Lone Star Steel Company cafeteria ten minutes before detonation during the noon hour. Security officers disconnected wiring and moved the device to a safe place. Texas Rangers investigate as the strike era has seen violence and damage at the plant.

General Motors announces a major recall affecting 1.13 million cars trucks and school buses for hydraulic brake seal failures. The move follows a Huntsville Alabama school bus crash that killed one student and injured three others, with noted maintenance deficiencies cited.
