Jets collide during Thunderbirds show at Holloman AFB

Two F4E jets from the Thunderbird squadron collided over Holloman Air Force Base New Mexico during a practice for an open house. Captain Rip Blaisdell ejected and Major Roger Parrish safely landed. both pilots survived though one plane appeared to be damaged. The incident occurred at about 3,000 feet as the four-plane team prepared for a steep formation. Hometowns listed for the two pilots were Carbondale Illinois and Topeka Kansas.
