Breeding Bank Robbery Case Delayed for Mental Exams
Judge John T. Boyd granted a continuance in the bank robbery trial of Paul Breeding the elder amid requests for mental examinations. The defendant’s son Allen Breeding 18 previously pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery in the same incident involving the Petersburg First State Bank. Both men face additional state aggravated kidnapping and federal bank robbery charges. Breeding has been jailed in Hare County on $200 000 bonds since November 30 1976.

Pacific cold front keeps West Texas chilly and windy
A Pacific cold front moved across West Texas on Monday dragging dust and gusty winds. The system is leaving effects for days with highs in the upper 60s and lows near 30s. Wind gusts reached 50 mph in Guadalupe Pass and 36 mph in Lubbock.

Three Charged In Incidents
A 26 year old man, Michael Scott Turner of 2736 94th Street, was charged with indecency with a child after allegedly exposing himself to a 11 year old near Rush Elementary February 22. Police arrested him after a vehicle description led to his capture at 19th Street and Quaker Avenue. Kenneth Camel, 22, of 121 Baylor Street, faced burglary charges tied to a Friday night break in at Parkway Elementary. Donald Ray Knipfer, 20, was charged with auto theft from a service station lot.
