15 POWs killed in bus truck wreck shocks return journey
Eighty more prisoners of war arrived in the United States aboard four Homecoming jets from Clark Air Base in the Philippines. Arrivals touched down at bases in Maryland Texas California and Tlinois with hugs and gratitude to President Nixon for the peace. At Clark another 56 POWs boarded planes for flights to the U S landing at Andrews Andrews Air Force Base Scott and Travis. Sudanese President orders crackdown on terrorists
President Jaafar Numairi ordered an anti guerrilla crackdown after the assault on the Saudi Embassy in Khartoum. He said a roundup of Sudanese suspected of aiding spies and terrorists will be carried out and that the killings of U S ambassador and two other envoys were a grave crime within Sudan. Five Arrested in Lubbock Drug and Weapons Raid
A Lubbock police raid at about 5 50 p m Wednesday yielded five arrests and more than $2000 in narcotics. Officers found marijuana, heroin, drug paraphernalia and three pistols at a residence on E Bates Street. Carey Stafford said four men and one woman were taken into custody as about 350 boxes of marijuana were discovered.
