Fisher and his wife Carrie, last seen December 14 aboard the 54 foot yacht Come No, departed Corinto Nicaragua for El Salvador, with authorities checking Pacific ports from the Panama Canal Zone to the mid western coast of Mexico. The couple's daughter Sue Ann King reports no letters since January and crewman David Odlum is listed as the only aboard.

Quake Shakes Four States Across Eastern U S

The Associated Press reports an East Coast quake rattled eastern Pennsylvania New Jersey Delaware and Maryland lasting six seconds and measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale at Fordham University. Officials say there were no injuries and the quake is not linked to the Kuril Islands event.

Missing Men Ruled Dead At Inquest In Dimmitt

Four area men from Hart were ruled legally dead after a six week inquest led by Justice Elvon DeVaney. The court proceeded to declare their deaths for insurance and legal purposes despite ongoing searches, under Texas seven year statute. The men Colum, Hanes, Mark Booe, and J. C Jackson disappeared Oct 11 when their private plane crashed in eastern Utah.

Three Die In Crash Near Friona On Return Flight

A small plane carrying 26 Muleshoe High School faculty members crashed three miles northwest of Friona in foggy weather. Passengers including Wayne La Grone and Maxine Fuller died at the scene. Brock Black was critically injured and later hospitalized. FAA investigators described the probe as in early stages as weather and visibility were blamed for the fatal accident.
