Two Dead Area Traffic Toll Rises On Week’s End
Four persons were injured in a Saturday automobile clash while an investigation continued into a late Friday mishap near Slaton that killed two men and seriously injured two others. The dead were James Allen Lewis, 25, Midland, and Lee Hoover Hall, Lubbock, both Negroes. The deaths brought the South Plains area toll to 10 in February and 20 for the year, surpassing 1958 totals at the same point. A separate 6:49 P.M. collision at 22nd Street and Boston Avenue injured Nat Williams, 55, and Norvell R. Johnson, 20, with another man treated and released.
