Corporations Move On Women’s Equal Opportunity Drive
Susan Davis, vice president of Urban Research Corp., says firms doing business with the federal government are required to adopt written affirmative action goals for women. She notes conferences in San Francisco Chicago and New York drew 1 600 industry government and women’s movement leaders paying 85 to 125 for sessions on advancing women in the workforce. The federal order, effective April 2, mandates prime contractors and subcontractors with 50 000 or more in contracts to set goals and timetables to place qualified women in all positions.
