Army Navy accused of oil supply by obsolete methods
Senator Porter told the House committee that the Navy will need to buy 500000 barrels of fuel monthly for six months in the Persian Gulf and ship it to the East Coast due to a critical shortage. He cited pipelines inadequate, Texas oil not reaching markets, and limited refining capacity as reasons for curtailment of exports to Russia and the Middle East to rebuild domestic stocks.
