ICC Proposes Rail Passenger Service Study to Congress
The Interstate Commerce Commission urged Congress to commission a sweeping study of national and regional needs for railroad passenger service. The ICC warned the current intercity network cannot be maintained without policy changes and noted a lack of consensus on the value of long and medium distance rail service.
