Space Station Could Orbit Earth With Artificial Gravity
Dr. Robert R. Gilruth outlined a U S plan to orbit a 1 million pound, 100 crew space station within the 1970s with a 240 foot arm and a 375 foot counter arm. The hub would serve as spaceport and zero gravity lab while centrifical force would simulate gravity. The design envisions three launch segments assembled in space and study areas for earth and star observation.

Minister Defends Members Of Gang In Chicago
A white minister, Rev. John R. Fry of First Presbyterian Church in Chicago, defends a $927,000 Office of Economic Opportunity program paying Ranger gang leaders as instructors in a basic education effort. Senators question the project amid charges of police harassment and concerns over hiring ex-criminals. Fry argues the program reduced violence while criticizing the Chicago Police Gang Intelligence Unit and denying aiding criminal activity.
