16 year old girl earns student pilot license in Texas
Rhonda Odom, 16, the youngest female pilot in Lubbock, completed her first solo flight at Town and Country Airport on her 16th birthday. She has about 35 hours of dual instruction and plans to obtain a private license at 17 then pursue an instructor rating. Her father Ronnie Odom owns the airport.

Track Bans Trainer and Grooms Over Drug Case at Los Alamitos
At Los Alamitos California a trainer and two grooms were banned after Pocket Rocket tested positive for apomorphine in the horse's urine following a Hollywood Park race.
