National Guard units honored for tornado relief effort

Panhandle National Guard units received the Adjutant General's Certificate of Commendation for work after last month's tornado in Lubbock. The 2nd Battalion 122nd Infantry Mechanized, led by Lt. Col Jesse K. Barton of Amarillo, earned the award with units stationed in Amarillo Wellington Lubbock Levelland Brownfield Pampa Borger Shamrock Tul ta and Plainview.
