Oil and gas activity expands across several counties with wildcats, producers, and tests announced in Nolan, Andrews, Crosby, Terry, Dawson, Roberts, Gaines, Runnels and other fields. Projects include 12 000 foot and 4 900 foot drills and a Terry County Noel Petty producer yielding 95 barrels daily.
Signal Oil & Gas Co will drill the No. 160 City of Monahans Ellenburger probe 11 500 feet deep inside Monahans city limits, 21 miles southwest of Ellenburger production in the Monahans field. The operation sits near Section 60 Block north of Barstow, northwest of Reagan Edwards field and west of the Delaware pool Quito opener.
In Lea County New Mexico the Skelly No 1-A Chil dress site 17 miles northwest of Lavington tested Rough C zone reaching 9 846 to 9 995 feet. Three hours 20 minutes test yielded 216 feet oil 2 403 feet of 42 4 gravity oil and 2 160 feet salt water with initial shut in pressure 2048 psi and final shut in 2970 psi. Southland Royalty added a producer to Inbe field at Caprock 10 miles SE with perforations 9 814 to 9 831 feet flowing 374 barrels 47 gravity oil and 61 barrels water in 24 hours through 32 64 inch choke. Tubing pressure 200 psi gas oil ratio 1200 to 1. Section location 1 14s 33e 1980 feet south 660 feet west.
Oil strike near Fort Stockton Pecos County reports potential to pump 1 barrel per perforation at 2,712 to 2,724 feet in 24 hours with gas oil ratio around 1020. Acid and fracture treatments used. re-entry planned to test Wolfcamp. several other wildcat and San Andres tests outlined across Crockett and Sterling counties.
Instruments at Skopje University recorded a tremor with intensity 4 to 5 near Skopje epicenter six miles from the city. No damage reported. It marks the 636th tremor since the July 26 1963 quake devastated the area.
