New Math Workshop At Tech Aims To Reform Teaching

More than 100 elementary teachers and principals attend a three week series at Texas Tech led by Dr W Robert Houston of Michigan State University. The program emphasizes broad concepts and the set theory approach to modern mathematics and the idea that teaching should stress what to teach as well as how.

New Math Program Gains National Attention

Dr B and June West of Eastern New Mexico University discuss the new modem math approach as Texas schools plan to adopt the program.
