Better Times Seen For Cotton In 1975
W B Criswell of Idalou, president of the Lubbock Plains Cotton Growers, says better times may lie ahead for cotton after a rough 1974. He cautions the 1975 and possibly 1976 outlook looks uphill, though signs point to higher market prices and some price protection. A conference panel forecasts U S acreage near 9.3 to 9.8 million acres, with Texas and the South seeing notable cuts.

Boll Weevil Invasion Tied To North Dakota Lab Study
Boll weevils invade the non cotton state but the National Cotton Council says the invasion is confined to North Dakota’s university research lab where a 14 month study aims to explain differences in weevil sensitivity to irradiation by time of day. Early results show daytime irradiation yields lower sterility and higher mortality.
