Protest shifts U S delegation head to Mexico City
Patricia Hotar of Chicago, longtime Status of Women Commission delegate, was slated as keynote for the United States at the International Women’s Year Conference in Mexico City. Pressure over Secretary Kissinger’s selection of a man led to the change, with Betty Ford reportedly possible as an alternative. The conference runs June 19 to July 19, with the White House noting scheduling conflicts.
