Navy jets raid Kep air base in Vietnam

U S Navy jets attacked the Kep air base northeast of Hanoi, destroying two MIGs and damaging two on the ground. The raid also hit revetments, with a Crusader shot down and their pilot rescued. A guerrilla clash near Nui Gla Mountains followed the same period.

A 17 year old Billy Joe Barrera died after arrival at Medical Arts Hospital. Richard Barrera 20 died at the hospital. Raul Alvarado 20 died en route to Lubbeck’s Methodist Hospital. Eugene Garcia Drais of Lamesa faces murder with malice charges. Garcia Drais arrested in Stanton about 1:45 a.m. Sunday. Bodies taken to Brandon-Phillips Funeral Home. Funeral services set for St. Margaret’s Catholic Church Tuesday. Survivors listed for all three victims include parents, siblings, and in Barrera’s case a wife and child.

Suspect Held After Slayings Leave Lubbock in Shock

A Lubbock man, Charlie Holloway, 54, was stabbed to death outside his home around 3 a.m. Sunday. Police held a 22-year-old man in connection with the slaying as charges were expected Monday. Holloway’s body was taken to Jamison Funeral Home. In a separate incident, Samuel Maxey Dr. 1704 29th St. was wounded by a shotgun blast outside his home late Saturday night and was listed in good condition at Methodist Hospital. Edwardo Rodriguez, 31, 108 E Broadway, received treatment at West Texas Hospital for a stab wound.

Congress Prepares To Approve Draft Law Allowing College Deferments
