No Summer Power Shortage Seen Despite Disruptions
Washington AP The Federal Power Commission said Americans should have enough electric power this summer if oil coal and natural gas remain available. TVA may be the only region with marginal capacity but can buy power from neighboring areas. Energy supply problems seem eased from 1974 though prices rise. A brief disruption could cause local shortages. Peak US demand projected around 782 gigawatts with 406,932 megawatts available and a 24.9 percent reserve margin.
