Severe weather smashed across Tahoka and surrounding towns with twisters north of Tahoka crossing U S 380 and another touch down two miles north and eight miles west of Post. The Lubbock Weather Bureau warned eastern Lubbock and Crosby counties at 7 41 p m and extended rain and hail up to golf ball size. Businesses like Lankford Variety Store and Plainsman Television shop suffered damage while a small barn was destroyed. Rain totals topped 2.5 inches over two days as crews reported debris and downed tree limbs.

Unidentified Reese Airman Killed By Car

An unidentified Reese Airman was struck and killed by a car driven by Sgt. Onal Norin near Quaker on West 4th Street around 10 p.m. Saturday.
