Eckert Resigns Lubbock School Post for Minneapolis
A. W. Andy Eckert, longtime business manager of Lubbock Public Schools, announced his resignation effective August 1. He will become assistant superintendent in charge of business affairs for Minneapolis Public Schools, a promotion praised by Supt. Nat Williams. Eckert joined Lubbock July 1, 1951 after leading Orange Public Schools and earlier working in Houston. He oversaw a 1951 52 operating budget of 2 865 777 as the district grew.

Second in Week Lynn County Drowning Victim Identified
A 7-year-old Latin American boy, Espiri dion Estrada, son of Mr and Mrs Joe Estrada, was found drowned in a muddy six foot deep farm lake near New Home Tahoka. Justice of the Peace H L Roddy identified him and said inflation was due to accidental drowning after being found by searchers Tuesday evening. A second victim, 23-year-old Jearrel Crowson of Wilson, was found Sunday in four feet of water off Farm Road 400.
